This Spring's series of four workshops focus on a diverse range of polymathic practices. Each one a unique synthesis of history, science, art, technology, and culture.  

Students of all majors welcome.

How to Spot a Bot

When: 3:00 PM - 4:00 PM
Where: Ahmanson Lab | Leavey Library, 3rd floor (LVL 301)
Event Type: Workshop
Attendees will develop the skills required to recognize AI writing by learning how to masquerade as one. In a competitive group game, participants will engage with the nuances and idiosyncrasies of AI writing to fool their opponent team in distinguishing between bot and human players.

There will also be a hands-on workshop for how to use Wondershare Filmora for video editing, including how to cut objects out of a video, and how to improve transitions.

AI for Creative Planning and Intro to Midjourney

When: 5:00 PM - 6:00 PM

Attendees will learn about how AI is used for pre-production work across different creative fields, and receive an overview of related ethics issues. There will also be a hands-on workshop for how to use Midjourney for art generation, including the use of modifiers such as ar:, s:, and image input.

Part of a series of workshops on fundamentals of creative work with AI. Each workshop will take a look into how new AI tools are being used by creative professionals across multiple disciplines. Every workshop will also feature a hands-on portion where participants can learn about and experiment with some of the leading AI tools for creative work.

AI for Ideation & Intermediate ChatGPT Techniques

When: 5:00 PM - 6:00 PM
Where: Ahmanson Lab | Leavey Library, 3rd floor (LVL 301)

Attendees will learn about how AI is used for brainstorming and ideation across different creative fields, and receive an overview of related ethics issues. There will also be a hands-on workshop for how to craft ChatGPT prompts more effectively, including the use of parameters such as temperature and presence penalties.

Directing with Generative AI

When: 5:30 PM - 6:30 PM
Where: Ahmanson Lab | Leavey Library, 3rd floor (LVL 301)
Event Type: Workshop
In this workshop attendees will practice core creative literacies for work with generative AI. They will apply studio production techniques used in film, television, and games to learn to create a cohesive output from multiple AI tools at once, including image, text, and sound generation. This workshop is open to all skill levels.

Memory Extrapolation & Artificial Intellegence
