Ethical XR Hackathon

The Ahmanson Lab, in partnership with ShiftSC and the USC Neely Center for Ethical Leadership and Decision-Making, hosted a hackathon centered around socially responsible uses of extended reality.

RealityShift was a one-day competition where participants formed teams and competed to pitch an EXTENDED REALITY experience (VR/MR/AR) that addresses a social problem.

All levels of expertise were welcome, and no prior XR experience was necessary. A major goal of RealityShift was to get students thinking of ways to implement emerging technologies in ways that could benefit society, while also considering the potential ethical implications.

Realityshift occurred on March 30th, 2024. For more information, visit https://www.shiftsc.org/
