Upcoming Fall 2016 Events

The USC Sidney Harman Academy for Polymathic Study is pleased to offer a diverse array of events for the upcoming fall 2016 semester, commencing during the second week of classes.

Our fall 2016 Polymathic Program opens with “World Religions – Finding Common Ground.” Three internationally renown religious scholars in the traditions of Judaism, Catholicism, and Islam will hold a discussion on the issues that have historically divided us—race, faith, and violence—with a genuine desire to promote a deeper understanding of ourselves and others. 

Our fall 2016 Polymathic Pizza Series, Pursuing the Polymathic Life explores the pathways to the polymathic lifeProfessor of English Viet Thanh Nguyen launches the series with a discussion on the importance of community as a polymathic principle as reflected in his recent Pulitzer Prize winning novel, The Sympathizer.   This opening session will be held on Tuesday, September 13 starting at 5p in the Harman Academy, DML 241.
