    The Reclaim Project

The Reclaim Project weaves together media production, AI research, game design, and curriculum development together with scholarly inquiry into misinformation, aiming to challenge the spread of toxicity and hate speech online. The project’s three research areas—Social Media, Game Design, and AI Curriculum—bring together students and faculty from across disciplines to explore the intersections of media, technology, and misinformation, with a shared commitment to democratic dialogue and creative resistance to online hate.

Reimagining the Shadow of Dodger Stadium

This collaboratory will use interactive visualizations to explore potential for spatial justice by addressing the historical displacement of communities to build Dodger Stadium. The team will draw on the perspectives, insights, and recommendations of community interviewees to propose a redesigned use of the Dodger Stadium parking lot that could contribute to spatial reparations for the descendants of the displaced communities. By bridging community engagement, urban design, and geospatial assessments of place, this work will highlight how economic and social equity can be achieved through innovative land-use planning and mixed-use development.

    Earth Democracy

Earth Democracy is a research and film project on law, ecology, and the extraction of “critical minerals” for high tech and green economies. This Collaboratory will draw on the creative and critical strengths of its student members to bring to life a short experimental documentary about Chile’s 2022 constitutional referendum that sought to protect the rights of nature, indigenous communities, and imagine a more sustainable future for Chile.
