Akira Lippit

Akira Lippit is professor of cinematic arts, comparative literature, and East Asian languages and cultures.  A polymathic practitioner, his research focuses on four primary areas: the history and theory of cinema, world literature and critical theory, Japanese film and culture, and visual cultural studies.  He is currently working on two projects, one on contemporary Japanese cinema and another on experimental film.
