Objects of Knowledge IV

Fall 2014
Objects of Knowledge IV

This fourth season of a series of conversations examines the diverse ways that images and things interact, embody and generate ways of knowing, which guide the course of human action and understanding and engender creativity and innovation.  What is new this year is that professional school faculty and graduate students will be recruited to collaborate with their Humanities counterparts to envision the world in innovative (polymathic) ways.

Advanced graduate students from the humanities and professional schools will give a half hour presentation of their research, followed by a faculty member respondent who will comment on their paper and enter into dialogue with them.  The discussion then opens up to the larger group, which will look specifically at questions of visual culture and evidence from a polymathic perspective.

Held on select Tuesdays and Thursdays 5:00pm – 6:30pm throughout the Fall 2014 and Spring 2015 semesters in the Harman Academy, DML 241 unless otherwise noted.
